Need Pots for Danelectro Nifty Fifty Accident

My brother's Nifty Fifty was dropped and the 4 pots snapped off the
circuit board. Poor design.

Bro wants his amp to work, so I need to find 4 pots. 3 of the 4 are
labeled B50K. The fourth is illegible.

Any ideas where I can buy these pots for a reasonable price.

They are mini pots and mount directly to the circuit board (hence the
problem)

I suppose I could replace them with better pots and run wires to the
ciruit board. I would then have to secure the circuit board some other
way, because the design is that the pots and the jack hold it in place.
Like I said -- POOR design.

Thanks -- all assistance appreciated.

Yup. If input the jack nut loosens/falls off, all the force one applys
when plugging your guitar in goes to the pot shafts (that'll eventually
snap off, in order, 'Dirty/Sweet', then 'Level', then 'Bass'...)

Been some time (~three years) since I contacted Danelectro (Evets) to
get replacement pots, those little amps used to come in here for broken
control shafts ~one a month; I got the replacements directly from them;
so these are 'old' phone numbers for 'Danelectro direct':

949.498.9854
and
949.583.2419

Sorry, didn't keep any notes, so I can't confirm any values; and AFA
second sourcing, the particular physical size/height from PC
board/shaft etc didn't match any of the other controls we stocked (i.e.
so no cheap Alps substitution possible), so I was 'forced' into
contacting Danelectro direct.

Hi,
I to got such an amp in repair last month.
I ordered some Fender pots (those in the 15DSP models) but it seems that
Fender can't send them because these amps are seen as disposable goods!!!
Well to come back to the matter, I very strongly believe that these Fender
pots fit exactly in the Danelectro amp.
In the mean time I fixed mine with other pots and wired them to the pcb.
I made a small plastic thingy that's been glued to the pcb and fits exactly
over the small notch in the chassis close to the transformer.
It keeps the pcb secured, the inputjack is doing the rest.
It sounds ok for such a small amp.
Good luck.

Hello Paul,

Gently tell your Brother to spend some coin of the realm for a better-built
amp. His Nifty Fifty was around $90 - 100 and thats what you will expect to
receive for that budget range for a solid state amp.

I owned one and it was an OK home practice amp; headphone out, etc. A
Fender silver-face Champ is around $175 - 200 used and would be a good small
wattage tube amp for his home needs. No headphone out though.

Of course a general rule-of-thumb is not to drop your amps anyway
(grin....).

All the best.

Measure across pot4's two outer lugs with an ohmmeter. i'll bet it's
the same as the others, but that's how to make sure. It won't measure
exactly what the label says, butt will be close.
Be aware that droppage can knock components like capacitors loose,
leading to many bad symptoms. Check it out while you've got it open.
Consider mounting an indepedent input jack, then pot size will be less
critical, and you can go to steel shafts, maybe.
