Cleaning up the basement today and I stumbled onto an old amp I forgot
I had...not even sure where it came from at this point. It looks pretty
typical of the 1970s solid state amps that were packaged with
department store guitars-- this one is a "Global 4080 Instrument
Amplifier" and features a cheapo 8" speaker, dual inputs, tone, vol,
and the deepest tremelo I've heard since "Crimson and Clover" was on
the radio. It's a cheap, simple little amp with minimal output...it
breaks up at about 5 on the dial with a Tele. Might be useful for
recording or practice, and the tremelo is really pretty cool-- way
deeper than my SF VibroChamp but there's no speed control. At full
depth it's so exaggerated it sounds more like a slapback echo with slow
arpeggios.
Anyway, should I put this thing on Ebay or just give it to some kid in
the neighborhood? It's not much else collecting dust in my basement.
thanks,
Kiwanda
